Is it normal for a 75-year-old with severe scoliosis to shrink 2" after an hour or two of standing with lower back pain?

It certainly wouldn’t surprise me, especially on concrete, or covered concrete. The bend is already in there. Or I should say the multiple bends and torques are in there. You are slowly making it happen by not actively moving. The only force acting on your scoliosis is vertically. That means gravity has you cold. It is uninterrupted and the more overweight you are, the worse it will be.
