How come after not doing deadlifts for 2 weeks I cannot lift the same weight without getting lower back pain the next day?

Well mostly it's about brains. First, you cannot jump back into what you could do before, and now again at full bore after you've had two weeks off. Our bodies can't handle the sudden shift. Our System can't make the shift. You haven't prepared your body. It's that simple, you work up to what you had before. I typically do ten pull ups every day or every other day. I've been doing this forever. However if I've been traveling, or forgotten for s few days or weeks, I can ever jump back in where I left it. I typically need two or three days to get back to a comfort level of my old ten. If I push too hard I feel it for days. Remember, your workouts are a marathon, NEVER a sprint. Treat them like a sprint and you'll always be plagued by injuries, matter how minor, they will add up to no workouts eventually.
